    So that came out in '83?
    Guess they were tired of the bass horns by then. Didn't need it for the volume, just use two woofs. Technology!

    Not really.

    This was a response to the problems with Thomlinson Holman and the THX garbage that destroyed realism in cinema sound systems at that time.

    These are great for home theatre. Smaller footprint than the A7, great for higher(over 100) watt solid state amps. These things can take a licking and keep on ticking at way high volumes. Like to have a couple more for rears.

    bass reflex and not quite 100% altec 2 15" and an 811 horn in eachspeakers similar to A6
